I've been to many Lee's Sandwiches over the years and I've never been impressed with their products. The baguettes are warm and inexpensive, but I think they only taste good fresh. The sandwiches are hit and miss. I do like the croissants types though. Their iced coffee is pretty tasty too, but that's all I would come for. They have a lot of stuff on the menu and all of it is fairly inexpensive, but I just don't think many of items are actually good tasting. 2.5 stars

It's the little things that count. It was raining today and I stopped by to get their coffee via drive-thru. I realized that this Lee's location has a cover so you don't get wet when exchanging money/ food! I thought it was super convenient compared to other drive-thru fast food chains. Like I said, little things that count. Coffee itself is good and keeps me going. Only thing is that I always pay with my card and they charge an extra .50 cents for the transactions under $5. Also, had their ham and cheese croissant and it was okay.

Drive thru here is quick and convenient . Starbucks should be taking notes . No need for energy drinks when you can go to Lee's for coffee and food in the go . Best part is they are never rude they're all smiles and positive energy even if the drive thru is jam packed !

24 hour sandwich shop near Disneyland. We stopped in to pick up sandwiches around 2am after Disneyland and pho for the next day at the parks. Service was super slow. The guy taking the orders and money was also helping to get food so the group in front of us. They were baking bread so our sandwiches took about 10 minutes to make. We just got their combo sandwiches. Also they were having a special and each sandwich came with free cup of Vietnamese coffee. Since it was 2 in the morning, we asked for it without the ice so we drink it in the actual morning. They just put everything in there and don't really customize the pickled veggies and jalapenos. It's ok, just picked out the seeds.

Here's another place I wish we had in Atlanta. Who can get enough of Lee's Iced Coffee? Served with crushed ice, it's rich, creamy, delicious--such a delight. I love the layout of the Lee's Sandwiches too, quick service at the counter with a variety of fresh baked goods, tasty snacks, and of course, their famous sandwiches. A definite must try!

Closest Lee's to my house and have been here many many times. So when I go here...most of the time it is to buy baguettes for family parties...like 20 of them each time with the mayo and pate. Bread is always hot and fresh when I pick them up and it's only $1! And on occasion I'll get the Coconut Waffle ($1.50) when it's warm and fresh. Service is usually never an issue with me. It's usually the same man and woman working the cashier. During one of my visits, they have/had a special where you buy a pork loaf (cha lua), you get a free baguette. So I noticed that the woman charged me for the free baguette so I asked her about it, and she actually said "oh you wanted the baguette for free? Okay I'll give it to you for free." Well...who wouldn't want anything for free??

Lee's is OK. I've been munching on Lee's forever and just never got to yelp about it. Here it goes! I usually get the combination (#1) or the bbq pork (#?). While these are my standards, Lee's can sometimes be "hit-or-miss." If the bread isn't fresh, it's super crunchy and it hurts my mouth to chew on such hard bread. Sometime I request for extra pate and it's not there! It may just be a little sliver of pate and I really do want some more fat in my sandwich for that extra cents I'm paying. I go to Lee's when I really can't think of what I want to eat at that time or if I'm craving a cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee). Now their coffee gives me a buttload of energy that I may need to keep going throughout my day. If I'm not in a coffee mood though (which can happen), I get their sugar cane drink that is freshly made that also has kumquat juice in it. The great thing about this Lee's from all the others is the fact it does have a drive-thru. I love being lazy and not getting out of my car. I mean, sometimes I just go in my pajamas because I don't actually have to waltz in and take my order! I love convenience. The only downside to Lee's is that sometimes the drive-thru is crazy during the lunch rush. Try to beat it before 11 and you'll be all right.

So I love the coffee at Lees among other items, but I am so disappointed for their lack of customer service when asking for easy ice! This is the 3rd time I ask for easy ice since it's over loaded with ice and I get like 3 sips in before its all gone! This time I asked the cashier if my drink had easy ice like requested. She said it did! I was so upset to see all the ice in the cup that when I said to just give it to me without it, she said while pointing to my cup that it would only be filled to less than half without ice! I have never heard of such a thing! Not even Starbucks that's more of a coffee place for the most part! I ended up leaving with my drink as is, but I will never go to this Lees again! In any case, they need to let their clients know how they will be given their items when requested a certain way!

*** Kudos for you Mr. Lee :-) *** I love the Lee's ice-coffee. Some days are better than others when it comes to the ice to coffee ratio. Some days it's more like an order of ice with some coffee added. But today it's more coffee and a little less ice (pretty good). I like this location because there's plenty of parking and it's easy access in and out. I'd buy the sandwiches more often here, but the bread is so hard! Mr. Lee, if you work on making your bread softer maybe you can sell more sandwiches :-) I realize the fresher the bread the softer it will be. The perfect sandwich bread is soft on the inside, with a slightly crunchy crust on the outside. That's a beautiful goal, but it's difficult for me to get to the store right when the bread is that fresh. An added plus is that they take credit cards on transactions. For real, I rarely ever carry any cash. I haven't carried cash for a long time. So by allowing me to just slide a card makes it easy for me to purchase things. The argument from the stores are always that the bank charges the extra 2.5 percent for each transaction. Probably all store pass that fee down to the consumer anyway, right? So let's call this for what it is. Most places want to cook the books a little in their favor. You know, I'm not going to sh*t on the small mom and pop shops that are barely making ends meet. However, some of these are very profitable "CASH ONLY" places with waiting lists and lines out their doors. Those places should really pay their taxes. So, I want to give kudos to this Lee's location for doing the right thing and doing their fair share. Keep up the good work :-) You've got my business! Now, if you could only soften the bread and I'll buy more sandwiches from you :-) Food = good Ice-coffee & croissant sandwiches Service = good Eating area = very clean Restroom = unknown

I have been to a lot of lees in orange county and this lees in garden grove on harbor is by far the best one . Everyone here is so nice and friendly . I always stop to get a morning ice coffee and a sandwich . I am so glad to hear that this Lees had a San Jose distributor and that their products come from them and not the local distributor. At this Lees you can come in enjoy you snack, lunch, breakfast or just coffee while surfing the net or enjoy a great conversation with the person sitting next to you. I give them a five star rating because of their cleanliness, their delicious foods, their staffs smiles and overall such a great place to come and enjoy a cup of coffee.

This place is amazing. Everything is always well done and the food taste amazing. I wish the one in fountain valley in harbor was the same but the extra drive to this location is well over worth it.

Great vegetarian options available for us non-meat eaters. The wait time is kind of a hit or miss. I've seen a full drive-thru of cars clear out in no more than 5 minutes, but I've also been stuck in the drive-thru for 40 minutes before.

This review is for the Lee's Sandwiches in Garden Grove, CA. A fan of Sandwiches, a bigger fan of European style ones. Fresh bread, tons of meats and toppings, side dishes, and drinks makes Lee's an excellent Sandwich stop. My Favorite is #52 (Jambon, Pate and cheese European baguette), with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickle on the side, plus two orders of Pate Chaud (substitute sometimes with a Ham and Cheese croissant), and a Honey Dew Drink. Set for lunch. Other favorites I have tried are the #69, the Turkey, Salami and Cheese croissant, and the Ham, Egg and Cheese Baguette (with Pate, extra). Side items and drinks I also order are the Pork and Shrimp Egg Rolls, and the Carrot+Thai Tea, Carrot, Durian (warning: acquired taste), HoneyDew, Lychee, and Jackfruit smoothies. Still working up the nerve to try the Vietnamese desserts, but they are kind of... interesting looking. Never will try: The Avocado smoothie (Xp). Even though Sandwiches are the main focus of this review, this Lee's branch has several areas that differ from its fellow Lee's: A Drive-thru, larger minimart section, free WIFI (instructions on the receipt), and a much larger dinning area (great for groups of friends). In summary: Excellent sandwiches, everything else is a bonus. =)

Drive-thru for fresh-pressed sugar cane!??!? Yes, please and thank you!!! Was rushing from the airport to an appointment in Garden Grove and quickly drove through to get something that would tie me over until lunch. Unlike the sugar cane in AZ, this one had a lemony flavor to it - it was refreshing!! In Arizona I have to drive quite a few miles to get to Lee's so it was great to actually see one right in front of me. I have yet to order anything but this from Lee's, but I'm a fan alone on fresh-pressed goodness.

The staff is rude and the advertising sounds like you are about to join a cult. I use to love this place but the model has become impersonal. Order ice coffee with milk and sugar. Sandwiches are still good especially the special. Avoid all the packaged foods because they are very sweet and misses the mark completely.

I will never have this sandwich again. I do not like the bread nor flavors. Good service and snacks!

  • Awesomeness S.

The BBQ Pork sammich (when a sandwich is too delicious, you have to call it a sammich. I don't make the rules.) is SO tasty! My friend and I breezed through the drive-thru to pick up 3 BBQ porks on our way to disneyland. Picnic at the park anyone? haha They had all the meat, sauce, and veggies you could ask for; and they make sweet sweet love in your mouth o_o. I will see you again Mr. Lee...

DRIVE-THRU. OH YEAH! I LOVE Lee's sandwiches, the Vietnamese style, haven't tried the croissant sandwiches yet. The best is the number 5, a grilled pork sandwich. I like ordering this with extra pate, and extra pickled vegetables. I do have to say though.....SKIP THE SHRIMP AND PORK SPRING ROLLS. The lettuce in these things are old, the roll itself, not good. I have other places where I crave this simple food. Don't even know how they could get the spring rolls SO wrong. Every, Lee's location, screws this up. Tip;; if you're like me, and gets the palate of your mouth all cut up from the french bread....eat the sandwich, bottom side up. saves your mouth. Bon Appetit.

  • JONG SU O.

I gotta agree with Steph. When you order iced coffee products, getting 90% ice and 10% coffee are ridiculous. Their iced coffee is a lot more expensive than Starbucks. Then you get an ice-filled cup with a little bit of coffee added? Total nonsense.

    (2)
  • Reagan T.

Let's just say there are a bunch of Lees Sandwiches but this one is closest to Disneyland. I always come back here for the coffee, Banh mi and other snacks. It's cheaper than paying park prices. Service was fast and friendly with a sense of urgency. There must be something in the blend of coffee/condensed milk ratio that keeps me coming back for more. If you're a heavy drinker ask for a little ice because they tend to fill the whole cup with ice and you only get about half a cup of coffee.

  • Kae Y.

I like this Lee's due to the convenience of a drive thru and they take credit cards. I don't eat their sandwiches because it's not as good as the mom and pop shops in Westminster. The drinks r decent and inexpensive if u need something quick and easy.

Love #68 with extra avocado, and #6 with extra house veggie. I gave them 4 stars for clean, good customer service, and 1 extra star for 10% off from Kaiser. Yay!!!

Banh mi are made to order with fresh, crisp, warm bread. Probably the best Banh mi sandwiches I've ever had. They also sell various Asian snacks and drinks, both packaged and made to order. I ordered pork and pate sandwhich with a hot, filtered coffee. Yumm yumms

#11 Combination sandwich is my favorite. It has everything in it. Chicken Nuggets and the pate chaud is also good. Don't forget to buy the Lee's ice coffee! This place is clean and the service is also fast. The owners is friendly.

I went to the first time with my co worker. There were kind , nice and everything was at a reasonable price. There's a drive thru which is perfect and the sandwich I got was the dankest

Rude. And did not want to refund a drink that tasted like water. Do not get strawberry smoothie. Claims they put lots of fruit but its just one? Like really

Super upset because this was my favorite location.... I go out of my way to get my sandwich and don't mind paying the extra for avocado because it's always delicious. It's an hour before closing time but my bf drives to this location which is about 20 minutes away from our place and it's the second time they charge me for avocado and don't add it!!!! Didn't get two stars because the coffee is amazing.

Another beautiful day in Garden Grove!!! Gotta have my healthy juice of Pennyworth drink with no added sugar to begin the day. I have given up coffee alcohol sugar and cigarettes on my Clean program by Dr. Alejandro Junger. Feeling excited about life!!!

  • Truong T.

My favorite thing to get here is that sugar cane juice. I actually didn't check the price but it appeared very pricey because my grand total was like 30 bucks for 4 sandwiches and 4 juices. Ah wells, I do see a fly chick roll by here once in a while so Imma have to give this place a good review. People here are pretty friendly as well. The down side is the bread here are not soft and tends to hurt my gums but I really don't give a fuh because I have dental insurance. Sike, no dental insurance y'all so no more bread here for me. But I'll be back for that sugar cane juice though (which is also bad for your teeth, but is just to DAMN tasty to give up). My name is Billy and I have a sugar cane juice addiction.

    (4)
  • Ilina L.

Love the coffee; but not my first pick. Service is okay usually in the drive thru so can't tell you much. They except credit minimum $5; if under they charged you 0.50 to use it. I guess that okay if your not planning on spending more then $5.

  • Spa F.

Lee's Sandwiches are opening up all over Orange County and LA...why cant we just get one in San Diego??? I had my normal favorite go to drink....large iced coffee and always try a new sandwich. This time had a more traditional "Americanized" sandwich. Roast beef and American cheese. Was fantastically delicious. Bread was to die for... P.S. This location takes credit card if you spend over five dollars.

BEST ICED MOCHA IN THE WORLD! I just have to ask for light ice because it seems like I never get enough!! Great service and yummy coffee!!

  • Mr. Straight Forward X.

Who thinks these sandwiches taste great? The bacon, egg and cheese croissant was so utterly underwhelming that each bite I took I was in sheer disbelief. Flat taste with hardly any texture to it. The eggs were rather rubbery. I couldn't even taste the bacon! Bad experience all around.

  • Saul H.

Very delicious sandwiches. I drive all the way from Riverside to eat here. Try the #4 its the best. Top it off with one of there iced coffees or smoothies and your golden!!

  • Andrew K.

This is the second time they screwed up my order... What's so complicated... I even told them they messed up my order last time and asked them to be more careful this time. 3 special combos without jalapeños, 2 special combos with jalapeños. The lady at the window looked thru the order and told me she marked the sandwiches WITH jalapeños with an asterisk. When I got home and started opening them, both sandwiches marked with asterisks didn't have jalapeños, and two of the unmarked did, but another one didn't... It's like playing Russian roulette... They also go pretty cheap on the pate...

Same sandwich, same meats, fresh bread, same review. I think I have reviewed about ten of these places. Always a good choice. Enjoy your Vietnamese yumminess!

    (3)
  • Natalie M.

Soooo over hyped! The meat tasted like rubber, the employees didn't even know what was in the food!!! Not very nice either. We got a smoothie drink, that was okay. Never coming back! The bread was so disappointing!

    (1)
  • Christina D.

My banh mi thit nuong did not have a lot of meat it was basically all vegetables which I did not like. Also my pate chaud had a really hard cartilage piece in it which I could've broken a tooth on so id say don't eat here if you like to keep your teeth.

  • Somchai I.

i love lees! please make one in fort worth lol...a lot of people go for the banh mi... I LOVE THEIR GIANT CROISSANTS. GOOD GOOD ITS HUGE. id gladly pay the 5$ for it. and its soo good. the prices are so cheap here. i had ordered about 30 banh mis for everyone else and it was done pretty fast im really surprised in the work ethic here.

  • Katie S.

I have gone to several different locations thinking that I may have missed something. The banh mi is NOT good. There is very little meat in the sandwiches. The meat and fixings that they do give you is not high-quality. I would've given Lee's sandwich one star but the bread is baked fresh and it's decent. Coffee is ok aswell but nothing to rave about. Staff are generally friendly. This rating is to all the Lee's and not just this location in particular.

    (2)

Very good and very friendly service. Some lees locations are very bad in regards to the food. This Lee's is very good and great customer service. I recommend this location to everyone.

  • Jim M.

We swung by on our drive back to LA and it was incredibly good. I had some sort of pork banh mi and she had a veggie one, along with some bread for the next day. Especially because it's so reasonable, I love stopping by this place. It's the fresh bread that makes Lee's so amazing.

    (4)
  • Iris A.

My Thai Boba was delicious and I add the fresh bread, If you haven't been there you should check it out worth the stop.

    (5)
  • Monica P.

I love the iced coffee. You can order it extra strong without an additional cost. Their sandwiches are always good but they also have chicken wings and egg rolls. Sometimes the chicken wings aren't crispy though. I like going to this Lee's because they have a drive thru. If you go in they have free wifi.

    (5)
  • Jessica C.

First off the sandwiches here are amazing! But if you want to order coffee I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you just want a cup of ice with a splash of coffee. I'm not going to pay 5 bucks for a cup filled with ice. It's honestly not worth it to me. We even showed the server after literally one sip and he just shook his head and rolled his eyes. If you can't give us more that's fine, but just the level of customer service he gave us was rude and not professional. I love Lee's but the location might need to look at their staff if they want to keep their business going.

  • Lloyd M.

I was in the area on business and finished my job at lunchtime. I couldn't help but notice this busy drive-thru sandwich shop, Lee's. With all of the hustle and bustle (sweet Jesus, did I really just type hustle and bustle .... g-e-e-z-e-r!) I figured Lee's was a good place to eat. As I walked in the door to Lee's, I was immediately struck by the smell of fresh baked baguettes. From that alone, I was sold. Mr. Lee, you had me at baguette. I jumped in line and grabbed a turkey club sandwich for $4.79. A few minutes later, I was chowing down on my baguette encased sandwich, which had a crisp fresh crust. The crust on my baguette was so crisp, it left a minor road rash on my tongue. Lee's offers a broad selection of what they call Asian and European sandwiches. The service is fast and efficient. While my sandwich was filled with traditional components, the fresh bread and value made it a winner. And, if you feel like staying in your car, you can cruise through the drive-thru. I really can't think of another drive-thru sandwich shop.

  • T N.

I like the fact that this location has drive thru. Banh mi is ok, it kinda like hit and miss. Someday i got the hot breads, someday i got cold breads. Forget about the drinks, i've tried avocado smoothie, thai tea and sugar can. They tasted watered down with sugar, the smoothie is tucky. I threw most of their drinks away after couple sips.

Love going to this place! Usually get fresh baguette bread with roast beef. Great prices for a good hearty sandwich. If you go to this location try the number 23 abs the number 50 which is my wife's beat choice. Love this place can't say that enough!

  • Jolene S.

Tasty sammies and I feel better eating this than other fast food. The sandwiches are pretty big. The croissant is ginormous and delicious! Plus they have a bunch of desserts I don't understand but I love! Try the dried shredded pork (you can buy a container of it) It looks kind of fuzzy but it's like shredded jerky. My boyfriend and I bought it and added it to sandwiches like bacon. And definitely pic up a fresh baguette if you're having spaghetti or something at home. Hot and fresh! So yummy! Took one star off because they can be pretty slow.

  • Sherri D.

The closest Lee's Sandwiches to Disneyland. Convenient and cheap, my boyfriend and I bought 5 to bring into Disneyland. Even after about 6 hours the sandwiches were relatively good. The sandwiches are filling and under $4 for a sandwich. But now we're tired of banh mi sandwiches probably not going to be back for a while. The restaurant is clean and fine to eat in. Parking lot has a lot of potholes so drive slowly.

  • Anthony N.

ehhh..I think this used to be a Burger King because it sure looked like it. The only reason we stopped was because I saw it had a drive thru and I wanted to investigate since I've never seen a Lee's with a drive thru. The bread was off...and there was like hardly any filling in the banh mi. My bread was so chewy and hard to eat that it made my jaw tired and stretched out. *watch yo'self". I got so tired I gave the other half away.

  • Kara Z.

Interesting menu! They have something for everyone. I had a Euro-sandwich- a turkey club and and I added avocado instead of mayo. It was good but the bread seemed a little stale which I was surprised about because the sign outside was lit up that they had fresh hot bread. Maybe it was because I got a cold sandwich. The bacon on the sandwich was very good and crisp and a generous portion which I appreciated. My sister loves this place and it seems very popular. I liked that they had small cans of lime Perrier.

I've had better banh mi sandwiches, but this is by far the best Lee's location in OC. I got the #4 (grilled chicken) and it was only $2.50. The sandwich was pretty good although I didn't find the chicken too appetizing. They also sell hot fresh baguette bread for only a dollar. They are open 24 hours and even have a drive-thru window. They also take visa/mc and the service was really friendly and fast.

this locations drive thru performance is TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!! on numerous occasions coming here for a simple banh mi sandwich either it is early in the moring before work 7am or 1pm around lunch time. The wait time in the drive thru is horrendous. expect to be in the drive thru for at least 15 mins. if there are 3-4 cars in front of you. Just earlier today where I came at 130pm for 3 banh mi it took until 150pm by the time i was able to reach the drive thru window to pay. 20 minutes in the drive thru!! are you sh*tting me!!! given that it already took long enough I immediately wanted to just get my banh mi, pay, and leave. I asked for some mustard and the chick at the window had troubles getting a packet of mustard while taking orders through her mic. she gave me only handed me 1 packet. REALLY?! how stingy can you be? really frustrated at the time I visited today. Probably will not be coming here in a while due to such inconvenient this place has become for serving such simple food. IN n out burgers drive thru serve food quicker during rush hour than this place, honestly. It also seems they have raise all the items on the menu. 3 banh mi came out to be 11 dollars. that's outrageous.

The food is better than I expected. I was shocked at the price. Boyfriend and I got the BBQ pork sandwich and the grilled pork sandwich. Both were really yummy. I liked the grilled pork better. On both of the sandwiches the meat was pretty sweet. I like savory better personally. The baguette bread was so fresh I loved that the most. I recommend trying this place. If I lived here I'd probably come back.

  • Still Water Runs Deep F.

Got the "runs" from eating here. I got 4 sandwiches and I did not eat anything yesterday until I got to Lee's. Each sandwich was of a different meat and I had to hit the restroom after finishing each sandwich within a short period of time. Not good!!! Either they don't sanitize their place that well or keep the area where meat is located clean. Either way, I got the runs, runs, and more runs. I've been here numerous times in the past, now this is not acceptable in my book. Will not be returning to this place. No thank you. Will no longer give them my business. The End.

Although Lee's is a chain, there are differences between the stores. I particularly like this one over lets say the Irvine store. I think the taste tells the tale. This store is a must stop for us when we go to Disneyland. Its fast, consistent, and the price is right. I haven't been in the store, but who needs too when I can get everything I need through the drive-thru!

Lee's is the king of Vietnamese Sandwiches.... my wife is Vietnamese and we honeymooned in Vietnam so I can tell you with some certainty that this place makes a decent Bahn Mi..... Not only do they have lots of sandwiches, but they have lots of other yummy Vietnamese things. You'll just have to find out and check it out.... oh and mind the little red peppers - they'll test your tolerance for pain.

It was getting late saturday night and we were trying to find a chinese restaurant in the vicinity, but we saw this place, and decided to check it out (there's one back home, but we haven't been there yet). We got two sandwiches (one was vietnamese, with the pickled veggies for me, and one was on a croissant, for my hubby), one taro boba smoothie (we got the large one, there are two sizes), and spring rolls (these were shrimp and roasted pork) which was around $15- very good!!! You order at the window, pay for your order there, and then when it's ready, your number is called over the intercom. Maybe because it was kinda late, there were two or three other parties besides us there. There was ample seating, but I'm sure that it's packed for lunch on the weekdays, since this is a reasonable place. It's clean all around. I loved the fresh bread, firm on the outside, soft on the inside, housing pickled veggies, jalapenos, and cilantro, with the chicken (dark meat). I loved the combination but I wanted more sauce. My husband liked his sandwich (more western, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and mustard, with lean roast beef). The taro smoothie was so creamy and delicious (no ice particles at the bottom). The spring rolls (clear) were really good except, I picked out the pork (which he ate) while my husband picked out the mint. We would come here again, but most likely check out the one back home.

Lee's Sandwiches is greater than Subway, Quiznos, Sub Shop.... vietnamese sandwiches are simply underrated. the freshness of the bread - the fresh pickled veggies, fresh jalapenos, thinly sliced meats and oh so yummy pate spread. what's there not to like? to top it all off... it's less than $5! Lee's Sandwiches are nothing short of spectacular. fast service, clean facilities. its what every vietnamese sandwich shop should be! it even has a drive thru - they really set a standard for fast food in general. plenty of other items to choose from if you don't like viet sandwiches... there's desserts, pastries, crossiants... sodas, smoothies, soy bean drinks. candy, snacks. now all they need to do is open some in washington!

Just had the exciting experience of my first bahn mi sandwich, and holy crap was it good! I had #5 - the grilled pork sandwich. The pork had awesome flavor and was nice and juicy, and the bread... omg, the bread. Let's just say I will definitely be going back! Oh, and great news: it only cost like 2 bucks. AND they have a drive through.

First time trying Lee's and first time trying an "Asian sandwich" Ordered the #4 It was actually very tasty served in a crispy warm bun, had s nice balance of sweet and heat. The only problem is not enough inside the sandwich. And no combos available

The main reason I go to this Lee's Sandwich is because of their DRIVE THRU window!! How very convenient! Vietnamese sandwich shops usually don't have drive thrus, hence my excitement. Haha. The place is located in a plaza, along with a Rite Aid and Chase Bank. Anyway, the workers there are very polite and quick at making your order. I frequently have to order sandwiches for my family of 8 people and I never have to wait long! Plus they are made neatly and correctly. I always order BBQ pork sandwich and iced coffee Americano. The strawberry smoothie with boba is great too. The boba gets a little frozen from the smoothie and are so yummy to chew! I highly recommend coming here for a quick and satisfying lunch!

I drove far to get the sandwiches for the family i ordered 10 no onions and I made sure they heard me because the last time I was there they put onions, well they did I it again I made sure to check them before I left and of course they did I took them back to the manager by the way the same guy ( with no peoples skills. He said nothing turned to the girls something it seem he was more upset to have to make new sandwiches then the mistake. Waited another 15 mins he handed me the bag I asked no Onions right he said No. I checked them again and guess what still onions i took them back to the guy and he said " we are out of chicken so we took the onions out". I will never go to this place again and I hope the people read this and for the ass on the counter he should get some classes on how to treat your customers. He still charged me full price I would have left without them but my family was waiting for their sandwich. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

When I was living in Garden Grove, I hated Lee's Sandwiches on the corner of Brookhurst and Westminster. The reason was that the bread was so hard, it always scraped up my gums. Why should I sacrifice my gums for a sandwich? I rarely ever went there because of that. A couple of months ago, I found out that there was another Lee's Sandwiches on Harbor. This one has a drive-thru. Awesome! I went there for lunch one day, and it was great! The bread was a lot softer, and my gums were not all scraped up! I love it! Now I crave that all the time. I go there about two to three times a week for lunch. My favorite has got to be the BBQ Pork Sandwich. I always ask them to cut it in half, because one sandwich is just too much for me to finish in one sitting. So I eat half for lunch, and save the other half for dinner. $2.68 total for lunch AND dinner! What a deal! Their Grilled Chicken is also great too! Yummy in my tummy!!! Not to mention, it's only about 260 calories for the entire sandwich! Extra bonus!

The best thing here for sure are the baguettes. You can take one home for a buck. There are not any location very close by so I only go when I am in the area. Overall the sandwiches are way better than your Subways, but they are also very simple, its the bread that makes them cravable if you get a european sandwich. If you get a vietnamese style sandwich they are pretty good as well.

  • Mm O.

The BBQ Pork sandwich is a must! I get double the meat and double the veges everytime. Plus I add an order of the egg rolls and jackfruit shake. Another great sandwich is the crossiant ham and cheese. The prices are cheap for high quality freshly made food!

Awesome Breakfast Sandwiches! Taro Smoothie is great, has the right consistency and always consistent. Service here is pretty good, they are friendly... never had a problem here. If you're in a rush, their drive thru is faster even if there is a long line. I don't know how they do it! If you're in the area, be sure to stop by. It's worth your time and it's cheaper than getting food in the disneyland or convention center area.

The most common complaint I hear about Lee's Sandwiches is that their bread cuts your gums, breaks your brackets, etc. Despite those complaints, I've never had an issue with painful gums or broken brackets; and yes, I do have braces. Don't take my word for it though since your brackets may not be bonded as well as mine. What I love about this location is that it has a drive-thru. You don't have to fuss with parking and crazy drivers that you usually find at the ones on Brookhurst/Westminster and Bolsa. The only disadvantage about this location is that the bread is not as fresh. I'm assuming it's because they don't receive as much traffic and the bread gets old (since it's not in the heart of "Little Saigon"). But, when it is fresh, the baguettes are amazing. They're perfect for dipping in curry or Vietnamese beef stew. The sandwiches are cheap and satisfying. The ones I stick to are the special combination, grilled pork, or vegetarian. Their eggrolls are pretty dank. If you want some good eggrolls without having to go to a restaurant, get it here (any Lee's). I've also tried their turkey croissant sandwich. I love it: fresh lettuce, tomatoes, turkey, cheese. Oh, they have pretty good Vietnamese coffee here too. If you're going to get a sandwich, might as well grab a coffee too while you're at it.

Oh what...drive-thru? I'm on it! Went through twice so far and the employees were very friendly over the speaker and at the window. The bread was warm. The sandwich is what it is. Get the honeydew drink, that's all I gotta say.

NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN! Came here at 9:45 PM on 7-10, went to the drive thru because the doors were locked. the girl started speaking and asked if we were ready. I then asked for one minute to decide what we wanted. She then asked if we were ready again literally right after i asked for a damn minute. She then proceeded to say they were closing in 3 mins? it was about 9:50. I then said you close at 9:53 and she said yes... and then I said well your sign says 10pm and then she said it didn't matter what the sign said because they already cleaned everything up. At that point I was pissed and I told her how rude it was to lie and close early. THEY SHOULD CHANGE THERE CLOSING HOURS TO 9:50 THEN INSTEAD OF 10. I then told them never mind. I knew if i ordered my sandwich or whatever would be horrible so I thanked them and left..As i drove off I believe the manager and owner opened the drive thru window and started saying that i was wrong. I laughed in his face and said he was wrong and to practice better business! I was so annoyed and then get this... he flipped me off. HAHAHA some class there. whatever. He is a winner. Do yourself a favor and drive down to Brookhurst and go to the Lee's there where they are not rude and aholes!

Of the 4-5 different Lee's I've been to in Orange County, this one is BY AND AWAY the best one of them all. I simply get the #4 grilled chicken sandwich and the occasional spring rolls. But there are three key reasons this is the best: 1) Credit cards accepted (on purchase of $5 or more).... first one I've seen with that, more Lee's locations are popping up with them now. 2) The "grilled" chicken #4 is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS hot. It's hard enough if the french baguet is hard, but hard and cold makes it harder to chew. 3) It's stuffed TO THE BRIM!!! If you are nearby, maybe at a hotel for Disneyland, this is a great (and cheap) place that's open 24-hour. All Lee's are $2.49 for the #4 grilled chicken, but this one is the best made #4 in town.

I am ADDDDICTED to Lee's Sandwiches. I love getting my #26 veggie avocado baguette with a regular orange juice or small cafe sua da if I'm on my way to class. Although my first sandwich was the Asian-style vegetarian banh mi, I soon discovered & fell in love with the veggie avocado sandwich, European style. It's layered with American & Provolone cheese, lush amounts of avocado, fresh lettuce and tomatoes. I always get extra mustard & mayo on the side with my pickle. BOMB.COM!!!! I've even let my non-vegetarian friends take a bite & they were surprised at how delicious it was (: I've been to many Lee's all over Southern California - Rosemead, Westminster, Fullerton, but this one is MY FAVORITE! I come here for meetings, to do homework (free wifi), or just run in for some coffeee. The drive-thru is always super convenient, but it can get pretty busy!

Love Lees Sandwiches.....But its been a while that I have ordered a baguette, specially from Lee's...I usually get the croissant, but i got that instead. I love the fact that this Lee's Sandwiches has a drive thru. The best thing about the drive thru is that..it has a pre recorded "Hi, welcome to lee's sandwiches, what can i get for you today"...and then its a random voice right after. But Lee's never fails me, i love all their sandwiches, but i haven't tried any breakfast sandwiches. The croissant is always big and filling, and I always think it is healthy! I will always come here whenever i have a craving for it!

Stopped by Lee's Sandwich and wasn't impressed. I ordered the banh mi dac biet, coffee, and spring rolls. The bread was really hard and the meat rubbery. I usually stop at Banh Mi Che Cali but this was along my way to the hospital. For the price I paid and the long wait inside the shop, I'll pass on stopping again. This chain is more for the college student who needs a late night sandwich and some free wifi. If you want a better sandwich, don't eat here. But if you need wifi and cheaper eats than McD's, then be my guest.

Delicious, delicious, delicious. I like this place so much that I actually considered opening a franchise location. The bread is freshly baked every 30 minutes and there are few things better in the entire world than hot, warm, French baguettes. This is a fantastic spot to fill up your tummy without emptying your wallet. The sandwiches very good, but French bread can be hard and it will tear up the roof of your mouth (so eat your sandwich upside down).

  • Leslie J.

The freshest and crustiest Vietnamese baguettes you will ever have when in California..with a DRIVE THRU..served hot and ready-to-go!!! To experience it is just simply awesome, plus I love their bubble teas! You just can't beat the service at Lee's.

Good place for delicious Vietnamese sandwiches. Had spring rolls and egg rolls also. The sandwiches are great, and, although good, I'll probably get spring rolls somewhere else. They bake the baguettes on-site, so the bread is really crisp. That's a major plus. And a majority of the sandwiches are from $2.50 - $3.50, so you don't have to break the bank to find something you like. Note: almost every sandwich has pork in it, so if you don't eat pork, you might wanna try somewhere else. They also have little specialty items on the side if you wanna make sandwiches at home, and they have a good selection of coffee syrups too. Good place. Would eat there more often if they were closer to home.

  • Mary Y.

The Bad: Not enough mayo/paste/sauce in the sandwiches. That's All. The Good: Everything else. Sandwiches were a good size, tapioca bobas had the perfect texture and were cooked to perfection (they get hard and frozen if you order a slushy...it is not because they are undercooked), the coconut waffle is delicious, the pastries and snacks around the shop are so addicting!! The steamed buns are so fluffy and fresh. They seem to be very organized in how they work together. Be sure to know what you want to order. It seems to be more complicated the more you hesitate and stall on your orders.

If you live or work within ten minutes of a Lee's and eat Subway, Quizno's, etc., you are an idiot. The bread is always fresh and crispy, the produce and meat are high quality, and the prices are somehow under $3 a sandwich. Don't ask questions. Just go and thank me later.

    (4)
  • Tiffany L.

Not only do you get all the goodness of Lee's sandwiches here but this location has a drive thru...double awesome. The crispy baguettes that come fresh from the oven every hour are what really make the sandwiches here. My favorite is the BBQ Pork sandwich. Just because this is a sandwich joint don't neglect the other baked goods (croissants) or drinks ^_ ^ as they make a great iced banana boba that really hits the spot on a hot day. Tip: If you live locally swing by and grab a couple fresh baguettes for dinner. They're an ideal dinner roll or for dipping, kudos if you time it right and knab some fresh and warm from the oven. Baguette Drive thru Bonus: no more wasting time in markets with lines for stale hard bread (great idea!) I'd give this place 3 stars for sandwiches but they earn a 4th star because of their realistic pricing (good deal kids) and baguettes (solid taste + drive thru convenience)

I love Lees Sandwiches, never have a complaint from them ever. The sandwiches are so fresh , each and every time.Where else can you get a baguette for a buck. I love their chicken wings, I love taking the green coconut waffles home and adding butter to it mmmmmm. I love the pork and shrimp egg rolls. The italian sodas are very flavorful. This is the asian Subway to me hehe but with alot more things to grub. This is my monthly spot ...Enjoy!!!

If you want a affordable lunch then you have to go to Lee's sandwiches. They have all of the typical vietnamese sandwiches such as bbq pork, dac biet(special), chicken, etc They also have many choices of drinks and vietnamese coffee that everyone love. They have homemade bread and bakery. The only thing that bother alittle is they are chains all around southern california, san jose and texas(basically anywhere with a big vietnamese population). If you never had a vietnamese sandwiches then maybe Lee's is for you then.

This is the second Lee's Sandwiches that I have been to in the last month. This time the experience was not as good as the last one I went to. First off, the customer service was not the best. It seemed almost cold. My croissant was definitely NOT fresh like the last visit. I still like the place, but I wont be visiting this branch any time soon.

I'm obsessed with the #12 (vegetarian). For under $3.00 - you can't go wrong. Get it with extra everything: tofu, pickled veggies, & cilantro. And you wont be dissappointed. If you are, well... your taste buds need to be re-evaluated. Also: They have delicious iced coffees & a variety of fruit smoothies. The location on Brookhurst is open 24 hours. So it's absolutely perfect, for you night owls out there.

Always one of my most favorite places to eat when I go to cali! Lee's has the best Vietnamese sandwiches I have ever had....well probably besides from the ones my Mom makes. But yeah their subs are delicious! Their Vietnamese coffee is so bomb and everything is at a very reasonable price. You can go to any of these locations and see consistancy of quality and taste at any branch. Plus the one dollar for a baguette is a huge bargain!

best late night junk/fast food ever!!! the mint Italian soda is my favorite along with the red bean smoothie, avocado sammich, and the veggie sammich (different from the avocado) this location closes early but theres another lees that's open 24hrs a couple street light away.

Their bread is so hard and sharp at some edges that it can be fashioned into a knife to cut one's own flesh. And after trying to bite through it's rock hard exterior thats exactly what I wanted to do.

  • Thiep N.

I am actually shocked at all the positive reviews. Lee's sandwiches is probably the worst place to eat banh mi (vietnamese sandwiches). There are way better places all over the OC. The only thing that i can say is decent (just decent) is their croissant sandwiches which isn't even Vietnamese.

My wife is familiar with the Lee's in San Jose so we stopped here to eat after a long day at Disneyland. We ordered the a couple grilled pork sandwiches, one bbq pork sandwich, and a steamed bun. I forget the total, but I think it was around $10. After checking out the food prices at Disneyland, these prices were such a relief for a decent, filling meal. I loved the fact that they bake their own bread which makes such a difference. This is such a good place to go to other than going to another burger joint that has a dollar menu.

I haven't had a Vietnamese sandwich for like almost 2yrs, however the selection here surprised me and I had to try. And I love it! Cheap and yummy sandwiches and amazing smoothies; what's not to like?

  • Cristine D.

This is an Asian (Vietnamese style) fast food restaurant. The sandwiches are pretty cheap. Usually under $3 or so. I typically get the Chicken baguette sandwich (aka #4). It comes with chicken, mayo, pickled daikon, carrots and onion, and peppers. Because I'm not a big fan of "spicy" I get it without the peppers. It's a good place to visit if you are on a low budget. The coconut waffle is pretty good too. It's an interesting green color, but if you like waffles and coconut, try it.

Always fantastic bread, and their number 3, 4, and 5 (grilled chicken, grilled pork, and bbq pork) are excellent! Service is a little bit slow but the food is fantastic! They accept credit cards for purchases over $5.

  • Joie G.

We were pleasantly surprised to find Lee's with a drive thru and one that accepted credit card charges over $5. The husband enjoyed his ice coffee and my sandwich was perfect - crisp bread, pate, balance of jalapeños and cilantro.

I've been to several Lee's and this one has the best bread. I dont know what the issue is but for some reason, it is the best and soft bread. I always go for the #5 or #6 pork. Yummy... And go for the Boba Thai Tea.

We were going to Disneyland the day we came here. So here's how the story goes... My bro and sis in-laws had the 4 day pass to disneyland and had gone the past 3 days. Me and my wife came into town on Day 4 and we were NOT going to pay the ridiculous amounts of money for Disney Food. Bad Quality and High Prices. It just wasn't happening. So in the morning, we were going to make a trek out to the Bolsa area but happily, we ended up seeing this Lee's Sandwich on our way there and went here instead. So we ended up spending about $35 to feed 8 adults and 6 kids. They were all quite happy cause that same $35 would have been able to feed only about 2 adults and 2 kids at Disneyland. The only reason I can't go up in stars is because I still think Saigon Sandwiches in San Francisco is head and shoulders above everyone else in the Viet Sandwich department so unless you are even close to them in taste and quality, you will always have to suffer in my ratings... But the experience was great cause we saved a ton of bucks and had much better food. New "Beer" Comercial for Lee's Sandwiches "Get More" "Pay Less".........................

  • Danette M.

I like this Lee's over the others in OC.. I just tried their Eggrolls yesterday before then I always just ordered the sandwiches and coffee. I dont know about their Viet Sandwiches but their croissants and bagguettes are usually huuuge servings.. As in I can eat and get full and wait a few hours and then finish up. They are cash only though just a heads up! On a whim I got their eggrolls (the hot wings were sold out but it was 10PM so I don't blame em..) and I'm addicted I can't wait to get off work so I can get me some eggrolls. Yes I'm Yelping at work..SHHH!! They have a really good selection of non asian sandwiches including breakfast.. Also their iced coffees and mochas are EXTREMELY STRONG. Like Crystal Meth (never tried but you know what I mean.) I had one at 3PM one afternoon and was up til 4AM the next day...even after a grueling 2 hour workout! Oh no the boss is coming ...!

Eh, I wish there was a way to give this place 2.5 stars. I definitely had better, with the sandwiches from Chinatown, but Lee's Sandwiches is pretty convenient. Indoors they accept credit card and there's a drive through. A trip down to little Saigon (Westminster and Garden Grove) isn't complete without a pit stop at Lee's, that's for sure.

  • Michael C.

The Good: Toasty bread. This place gives you the best bang for your buck. Just go during lunchtime and see the mass of people waiting in line. They make it quickly and the sandwich never fails. The Bad: I've been to an authentic Viet sandwich place in Westminster and Lee's did taste different. However, Lee's is still very good. Try: Grilled Pork. Try eating the sandwich with chips too. I prefer Hot Cheetos. Don't Try: Taking the sandwiches home. They stink your car for a few hours, so leave the windows down.

  • Tin N.

I hate to give this place 5 stars, but I think I'm going to have to. Why the reluctance? Well because it's a Commercialized Vietnamese Sandwich Shop that sports a non Vietnamese name, and uses a factory type system to make their sandwiches. But hey, the man knows how to make a damn good sandwich. I guess I feel bad for all the several mom and pop shops in little Saigon. This sandwich really stands out from the rest. I usually get the two most popular Vietnamese sandwiches the cold cuts and the grilled pork. The key is that their bread is always fresh which is essential to ANY sandwich. When I do go to other mom and pop shops (usually Banh Mi Cali), if I happen to get fresh bread, then it can stand up to Lee's. However these times are few and few in between, and it is no where near the consistency of Lee's. And another reason I don't wanna give Lee's is that its more expensive than your other places. However, as much as I hate to say it, the extra cost is worth it (still very cheap for 2 something dollars). Damn you Lees! I hate you, but I love you.

Forget the sports bar where bartenders are pressuring you to get a drink one after another! Oh, just be careful with the green chile inside the sandwich. I almost had to call 911. I'm serious! haha =)

A solid 4 stars for this newer installment of one of Southern California's most recognizable mecca-esque "landmarks" of fast Vietnamese food evolution in the past decade or so. This location is the closest to my work and just opened within the past year and a half, so perhaps my bias may be showing a bit, if anything against the other branches. Ordinarily the Lee's Sandwich franchise wouldn't garner anything above a 3 or maybe a generous 3.5 for me. The prices are decent, the food is decent, and the service is decent overall. However, at the Harbor Garden Grove location, the "decent" happens to stand out as "outstanding" for some reasons... 1) This location boasts a drive-thru. GENIUS. On the weekdays this Lee's isn't as overwhelmingly packed like the Brookhurst/22 location, so perhaps there's a bit of oversight on my part. However, the drive-thru is well-lit, the menu is bright and large, the inside communication is computer-generated, and as a whole the unit itself is just generally impressive. 2) For a Lee's (and I don't mean any disrespect at all, I'm just pointing out the obvious), this place just seems to have a higher standard of clean and bright. There are random coffeemakers and other standard small appliances scattered for sale in the windows, there are bright neon signs that advertise everything from coffee to baguettes, and even though the square footage itself is probably a bit small compared to the others, it's still a good space. 3) For yet another inexplicable yet very tangible reason, the sandwiches that come out of here are SO incredibly fresh -- especially the bread. The Lee's spots that I was so used to frequenting -- the UCI branch and the Bolsa branch -- were occasionally hit or miss depending on when you walked through the door. Additionally, I have never gone wrong with the pate chaud here (which can be admittedly very disgusting if done badly, a la the new Lake Forest location). and 4) The people working behind the counter are friendly. I don't know what it is about Asians in general, but they can be very choosy when it comes to giving great service with a smile (trust me, I'm Asian myself, I know what it's like -- even in my own family). But here there has never been a sigh of exasperation, an eye roll of impatience, or even a stare of silent but deadly "HELLLLLLLO WTF" as is traditionally emanating from the Asian food server. (I use "Asian" to basically mean... well, ALL of our races on the continent. I'm purposely trying to be blanket generalizing because... well, I mean ALL OF US.) Generally speaking I give the Lee's franchise 3 solid, hearty stars; on certain days it can even earn a 3.5 when I get a particularly delicious iced coffee or Italian soda. But I have never been disappointed with any of my standards here at the Harbor GG location -- BBQ pork, grilled chicken, or sardine baguette sandwiches, the tuna almond croissant, or pate chaud big AND small -- and the service, freshness and cleanliness are just another plus in the positive column.

Great sandwiches for under three bucks. Highly recommend the BBQ Pork and the Vegetarian. Fresh baked baguettes. The drive-thru is great when you need a late night snack.

Good coffee, fresh bread, tasty sandwiches, fast and friendly service. They are very consistent and very good at what they do. Overall a great value. Had lunch here yesterday for $3.01. Can't beat that. I also love that they have a drive-thru.

I love the outdoor seating. You can almost pretend that you're sitting outside at a french cafe...almost. :) The other lee's dont have outdoors seating, so I appreciate this very much when it's available. Met the head LP guy for Marriot hotels here and he was giving me advice on what to do with my life. I didn't realize that I was here long enough to receive his whole life story and lecture. -_- The kind of people you meet at some places. Never had another awkward run in there since. I got 5 eggrolls (yummy but oily as heck), pork and shrimp spring rolls, my favorite #32 turkey and cheese croissant with extra mustard and red onions, and vitamin water (cost me $2.25...WTF!?). i felt ripped off when i saw that my vitamin water cost as much as my 5 eggrolls! Gonna stick to water next time. Not paying that much EVER again for some flavored water. Pssssh...especially when there's a Valu+ right next door. The service was quick! Much quicker than other Lee's ive been to and the place is clean. tables and seating is ample. Would definitely come back here again. Place doesnt open as late as how some other lee's do.

Ate hear the other after reading all good reviews. I had bbq pork Vietnamese sandwich which was the bomb. My family do not try many different or exotic things like I do...but that is cool here. They had the ham turkey & roast beef sandwiches for dem. They like theirs but I would recommend for all. Baquette bread was good & go when hot sign is on.

A Lee's Sandwiches with a drive-thru! I always get the #6 (BBQ Pork) with extra meat. The menu says extra meat is $1.00, but it's actually 75 cents. Egg Rolls are really good here as well. I've also had the pork roll banh mi as well as the grilled chicken and grilled pork and they are also tasty. I've ordered the Iced Coffee a few times and it's good...a lot of ice though. The French Baguettes are hot and warm every 15-30 mins and only cost $1 each. Tastes great when you are able to get them right when they come out of the oven and still warm.

Love, love, love this place! Food is great, the prices are oh-so-affordable, and the drive-thru convenience can't be beat! We love the breakfast sandwiches on croissants with fresh-squeezed orange juice and iced coffee. Their iced coffee is not over-sweetened like other fast food establishments... yeah, I know, if I'm going to be a bit snobby/picky about my ice coffee, why am I going to fast food joints? Can't resist the convenience! and I'm obviously not that picky. If you like tuna, try their tuna on croissant with almonds - really good, and if I'm feeling it, I add my own avocado - yumm! And for $1.00, the always-fresh-and-warm baguettes are lush. Unfortunately for me, my Big Man is now on lo-carbs so no bread for us - but I'm thinking I'll sneak over every once and awhile -can't resist the call of Lee's!

The best Iced Coffee ever! Fresh baked. Has drive thru. Free wifi. Most important of all.... GREAT FOOD! Hot coffee and croisant (#86) for breakfast.... or No. 14 with Iced Coffee for lunch.

Drive through is very nice touch. But this place is dirty. With so many other banh mi places around I don't know why you'd go here unless in a hurry. The sandwich was quite good, nice bread. Wasn't sure what was in the vegetarian other then a whole lot of crispy rice noodles, maybe tofu? Also had the iced coffee everyone talks about. But it seemed like it was put in a cup awhile ago and then sitting in the freezer. Tasted better then it looked. It's cheap but every place is.

I was skeptical about this place, and had already been semi-nauseated when going in. I had only one option on the menu: The Vegetarian. Fried tofu, vermicelli, bean curd, yam, carrot, house pickle, jalapeno, cilantro, salt & pepper and soy sauce wrapped up into a sandwich sounded pretty shady to me. But it was really yummy! And this place is surprisingly affordable compared to other established restaurants in SoCal. Anyway, I'm def gonna go back for more!

it's 3am, I'm awake AND I have a craving for an avocado shake. I love that I live in a world where I can order an avocado shake at 3 in the morning. I can also order a sandwich! Or pate! Or eggrolls! But let's not get too crazy. After all, it's three in the morning.

This is the most white-washed Lee's Sandwiches I've ever been to! The prepared food is still great, but they don't carry a lot of the extra drinks and desserts that I love at other places. Granted, I always go to the Brookhurst/Westminster location since it's by my house but I like it because I feel like it's more legit. You won't be hearing Vietnamese on the speaker calling out order numbers (what!), and they have a wide array of American chips and even gum available at the drive-thru o_0 And wow...they have a drive-thru which is great and I've never seen one with it! +1. However, you should tell them the English name or number of the sandwich because depending on who takes your order they probably won't understand it in vietnamese, lol. Another bonus is they take credit/debit whereas all other locations I've been to are cash only. In conclusion, it felt like ordering banh mi at a Carl's Jr... I agree with the previous reviewer that it is a bit Mcdonaldized and sometimes tastes like it. I recommend Banh Mi Che Cali and smaller places for true quality.

  • Maria O.

I took my mom from LA here for the first time and all I keep hearing is " why isn't there one in la?". I of course love lees from their grilled pork sandwich to the yummiest coffee known to mankind. If I could put their iced coffee on a permanent IV drip into my system I would. Plus they are like 2.50 for a huge sandwich and in todays economy you can't beat that. The only downfall is they only take cash , but their is an ATM inside so I guess that makes up for it.

Great bahn mi's, great smoothies, great prices. Lee has some of the best baguette bread around, and the BBQ pork and the grilled pork are my favorites. The give you a good amount of meat for the price but you do also get alot of veggies, the lettuce, carrot, daikon and jalepeno. I also recommend the avocado smoothie, sounds odd but it is creamy and delicious. I have also tried the jackfruit and taro smoothies which were ok for a try but would not order them again. I thought about getting the pennyworth smoothie but refrained since I have never even heard of pennyworth before. I have since seen it in asian markets and looks something like a clover. Maybe I will just shoot for the durian smoothie, but may stay away solely based on the smell. LOL Would also like to add, the coconut waffle was good and those little pastries called deli manjoo were delicious. They look like little baby corns, but dont let them fool you, the custard will kill you if its too hot. You have been warned.

OK, I'm addicted to this place. My buddy Tom took me to Lee's and now I want to eat here everyday. The grilled pork sandwich is to die for! Friendly staff, always great food, fresh baked bagettes, free wifi and internet, CHEAP PRICES and even a drive through. What's not to love!!!

You cant beat the price for sammiches here. Even if you want to just come in and get a few fresh (french) baggets, this is the place. Perfect that it is open 24hours, esp if your not into fastfood and need a bit to eat late on the weekend. I like trying things new and interesting, and for sammiches, this works for me, its even worth driving from Irvine during lunch.

  • Christina F.

I like them. I like they have a drive thru. I like the price. I like the sandwiches. I do not like the requisite "fod that should be refrigerated but is instead saranwrapped on the counter" that seems to be requisite at every vietnamese restaurant.

  • J-rodd D.

mostly go for the iced or hot Lee's coffee.... the last two times I went here, I asked them to go easy on the ice (because they really put way too much ice in that thing)....and they did not listen... they messed up a breakfast sandwich I ordered, also, a little while ago.... my fault for not checking it....but I was in a hurry, trying to get to school.... it would get a 4 but gets docked a star for constantly fuckin up my order....

    (3)
  • Kim V.

They never can get my order right.. I DON'T WANT ONIONS means i don't want onions. Sandwiches are okay. Good to go when i need something to fill me up and I don't have to venture to asian town!

When I think of Orange County, I think of Pho on every corner and Banh Mi at Lee's. I really like the bread at Lee's - I think this is the thing that seperates them from other Banh Mi.

i had high expectations for lees once you walk in the atmosphere was very unique. but unfortunately the quality of the food did not live up to the expectation. i tried a lees bacon and turkey sandwich and Im sorry to say it was not to appetizing the cheese seemed straight out of a kraft pack and the turkey wasn't all that fresh either the only thing that actually was good was their bread.

i don't know this place get's 5 star rating. this is not really awesome vietnamese food. is it ok? yes. is it cheap? i suppose. but the food here isn't memorable. the little dessert stand is uncommon and yummy, with the coconut waffle & custard filled mini bun. the drinks are tasty, but once again nothing amazing.

what can I say I am a sucker for fresh bread. They have awesome sandwiches at very affordable prices. You can choose to have your sandwich on baguette or croissant both are baked fresh. My bread is always warm from the oven still when I rcvd my order. Deli Manjoo are small little cream puffs that are more addicting than the sandwiches, I also like the egg rolls. Smoothies are pretty good but save your money and DO NOT buy thai tea here. Just about the only thing Ive ordered that I do not like. I even ordered it a second time because i thought maybe that girl was new and made it wrong... but nope that's how they make it and it's not good... But everything else has been awesome, addicting and completely worth it!

Why this Lee Sandwiches is better most other branches: 1) Has a Drive Thru Window 2) Accepts Credit Cards on purchase $5 or more 3) Has Free Wi-Fi 4) Not in an Asian populated area hence no bad drivers/traffic This places opens at 6am and closes at 10pm. Wished it was 24hrs because its down the street from me. This establishment use to be a burger king way back then. I usually go through the drive thru and get myself a cafe sua da (Vietnamese Coffee w/condensed milk) and maybe a #4 Banh mi Chicken. They offer breakfast menu here also however it's not the very best and its kinda pricey.

Wow! delicious banh mi!!!! amazingly fresh bread and it's perfectly made with light ingredients (not overpowered by thick mayo). I love this spot and it makes me sad that we are such a-lackin' in va/dc where I'm from! I guess I should move here....=)

Ive been to many Lee's Sandwiches it usually a last resort spot for me. Never been too fascinated about this place. Its been over a year since Ive gone & went to this Lees for a late drive through snack. Waste of money!! I got the #4 with a honeydew smoothie + boba. The bread was cold and hard, there was barely any chicken (photo provided) and they used thigh meat. The veggies were poorly sliced and not pickled at all. Just a all around let down. As for my smoothie its very sweet not bad but the boba had absolutly no flavor! I wont go hard on the for the boba but there are NO EXCUSES for Lee's Banh Mi. This location needs to get it together show some appreciation for this tasty Vietnamese street food. Find some flavor, keep your bread warm and care about your vegetables and sauces. You have failed me as a customer I rather eat a f'n cibatta from Jack in the Crack. Wth.

I mainly come here for the Vietnamese iced coffee - so good and addicting! :X I like to let the ice melt a litte first - if I start sipping right away, I'm jittery for the next 24 hours... :P There are several locations throughout Orange County but I like this one best because parking isn't a nightmare and they have a drive through. Sandwiches are okay here, but when I'm in the mood for sweets, I also grab a coconut waffle or half a dozen of the manjoos.

    (4)
  • Janice S.

Love the ban mi. #4 all the way. Also they have a drive thru.

  • Yan W.

Who knew there were DRIVE THROUGH Vietnamese Sandwich shops? My faith in humanity and American innovation has been finally restored! The service (drive thru or counter) has been excellent. The people are nice and this location opens at 6 am, even though their website says 7. I especially liked their take-home ground coffee selection and the coconut waffle thing. I've never been disappointed here and as far as I'm concerned, it has the best Vietnamese bread on the West Coast!

    (5)
  • Katie L.

Lees sandwiches, this location has a drive thru. I just discovered the Vietnamese smoothies. They are delicious. I tried Jack Fruit, Durian and Taro. I loved theJack Fruit and Durian, but not the Taro so much. Gotta give it a try. And they have the regular banh mi and cafe sua da.

    (4)
  • Alida H.

Good place to get some fast, delicious, and cheap food. The sandwiches are really good because the bread is fresh baked and great, and i like the whole idea of fast food banh mi because we don't have that on the east coast, but their boba tea is so so... I ordered it once and probably won't order it again. Their iced coffee is also good but you might want to water it down a little because its super strong depending on your tastes.

    (4)
  • Sinnary S.

This location takes MC or Visa for purchases over $5. WoW! So much more convenient than making sure I have cash on hand. It also has a drive thru, big plus. I went in with the kids when we were out and about, they ordered individual sandwiches with their customizations, I get the #11 no peppers, no onions. I also ordered 3 #11s with the veggies on the side (to keep at home since it's summer and all and my kids get hungry and we don't have a Lee's Sandwich anywhere near our house). And, after a whopping $43 for 7 sandwiches, spicy chicken wings, egg rolls, thai iced tea, 3 smoothies with boba and those pastry things filled with cream, they got the entire order correct! Not only that, but organized them into the bags and explained it to us when we went up to pick up our order. Oh, and a side note, my brother gets an upset stomach when eating these type of sandwiches because of the pate used. So, if you have a sensitive stomach, you may ask them to make it without the pate and substitute with some mayo instead.

  • Dustin R.

This is by far my favorite Lee*s location. I use to live a few blocks from here, and was there literally 4-5 times a week... usually for iced coffee or a baguette, but did get a sandwich at least once a week... This location always has fresh bread and fresh veggies. Their customer service is always great... And best of all, this location accepts credit cards! Which is great cuz they took the ATM I use to use out of the Value + market...

  • Larry T.

Love their banh mi ga(grilled chicken) and thi nuong (BBQ pork). but for 75 cent more i double up on the meat and it's worth it! Oh french bread is always HOT when you order, cause the baked them every 30 minutes.

If I have an affair with a sandwich it would be with a spring roll. Not only do you get 1, but 2 spring rolls for under $3.00. The vegetarian style roll is stuffed with fried tofu, lettuce, vermicelli noodles, cilantro and something else. It pairs perfectly in a little cup of sauce. One bite and I was hooked. 1 bite and I made a mess. I secretly wished I was dining alone so I could seriously chow down on this scruptious treat, without worrying about my roll pouring out and escaping my mouth. If your a carnivore they have a meat option spring roll, or if your into shrimp they have that too. The main difference other than your protein choice is the dipping sauce. Some rolls come with a peanut sauce, others a soy based sauce. The vanilla iced coffee with 3 packs of sugar introduced me to my afternoon kick which I gladly welcomed. If your not into Vanilla their classic signiture iced coffee does the trick. Credit cards are accepted with a $5.00 minimum purchase. Drive thru available if you are not as indecisive as me. But trust me, you want to go inside so you won't miss anything. Yes, Spring rolls are my pleasure this week, and are my back up from when sandwiches make me mad. But my true love will always be a good sandwich that Lees delivers.

    (4)
  • Jennifer P.

The Veggie Avocado sandwich hit the spot. The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Aside from being refined white bread it was perfect. The Veggie Avocado sandwich is simple: avocado, tomato, lettuce and cheese and a cheap $4. Personally I would pass on the smoothies and the spring rolls near the register. Neither were very good. The smoothie tasted like artificial banana.

  • Josie Y.

I have been to other Lee's Sandwiches, but this location is the best. I use them for company lunches all the time and they never deliver anything but the best quality. I love the baguettes and always pick up one to take home when I stop there. Their prices are also very good, I can never go to another sandwich shop. The people who work there are really friendly as well. I lost a reciept I needed for work and when I called to request a duplicate they said no problem come in and will get it for you....lifesaver. Now I never order their drinks so I can't comment on them, but as for their sandwiches they are always on point. This spot is always super busy at lunch time, both walk-in and drive-thru so don't be surprised by the short wait.

One of the best Lee's I've been to! I usually order a #5, a grilled pork banh mi, and a fresh squeezed lemonade. I'm always on a budget and Lee's has the best prices around. The sandwhich is only 2.99 and is very filling. Sometimes, I order the 5 piece shrimp and pork egg rolls. When they're fresh, these egg rolls are bomb! The Lemonade is more on the tart/ bitter side, which I totally dig! So if you're more into the tartness, then order it! Sometimes it's sweet too. I've also had the Thai iced tea- it's very concentrated. The inside and facilities were fairly clean, the workers were friendly and very prompt with my order. The bread is baked fresh daily too! If you're looking for a quick, delicious and affordable meal, definitely check out Lee's.

  • Aidreana Q.

This Lee's has it all. They have a drive through yes, they have beignets, they have coconut waffles, and they have drip coffee packs sold individually. I have been to other Lee's and this place always makes their sandwiches fresh and they always come out pipping hot. They have the best beignets and if you have never tried a beignet this is the place to get them 3 for $1. I am addicted to Beignets and thank God I don't work by this location because my beignet addiction was seriously getting out of hand. The pour over drip coffee packages are awesome because it's a pour over coffee to go, which is way better than the stale coffee at starbucks. The only thing that they could improve on is the drive window because sometimes they can't understand what I am asking for, which can be frustrating at times.

I was craving boba on this hot day so drove here for lunch. They were pretty busy including the drive thru line but luckily I still got my food pretty quickly. $3.29 for my freshly baked baguette with pork and pate with fresh cilantro was definitely a good deal. It didn't leave me super full but full enough $4.00 for a large Jasmine milk tea with boba. You can tell its lots of powder with creamer as there's no tea flavor and its very white as opposed to greenish. Not boba shop quality but it satisfies the craving Free wifi wasn't working today, oh well, maybe next time

Disappointed. We used to come all the time. After a couple months away, wifey recommended a quick visit to an old hangout. We saw sandwich prices posted went up to $3.19! Wifi code didn't work. Out iced coffee had way too much ice - we couldn't even fit our straw through. There wasn't a lot of meat in our sandwiches. It wasn't what we remembered of the place, and we left disappointed. Who knows if we'll ever come back.

LITERALLY LEE'S !!!? ****YOU WILL ALL GET ICE IN A CUP ****** I hate the fact that your iced coffee is damn superb.. Oh wait , you might as well just call it ice in a damn cup! Like really?! I get the whole "iced" coffee thing .. But filling 99% of the cup with it is unacceptable . ON TOP OF THAT ! You guys dont even fill the ICE "coffee" up to the brim of the cup! Disappointing . I have concluded that maybe, it was intended to melt first but no that assumption was wrong cause it tastes watered down.. Then i thought hmm maybe its already prepped & made like that but i have seen the procedure at other lees!!! You guys need to get your ish together & quit being greedy son of a bitches.. idk what the deal is with you guys but when the coffee is that good & you proceed to tease us all with that , what a gimick. PAYING 4 BUCKS FOR CRUSHED AND CUBED ICE WITH A TRICKLE OF COFFEE. I aint comin back ! Gonna find me a new damn iced coffee spot :( I HOPE YOU WORKERS READ THIS !

Really good selection for cheap! Where else can you get a sandwich for $3? This is the quintessential Asian fast food joint. You get food fast and for cheap. There are so many sandwich options and they also have other appetizers and desert options available. You can literally eat lunch for 2 under way under $10 and leave feeling satisfied. Sure you can get better food elsewhere but you can't beat the price.

  • Kevin V.

I went in for a Large iced coffee mocha ($3.99 so not at all cheap) and specifically said easy ice because I know how these kind of places like to rip you off. I get my drink and sure enough it's about 90% ice. I take a few sips and my drink is half empty within a couple of minutes, so I go to complain about the excess ice to the older asian man (OAM) who was calling people's numbers. Me: "I asked for easy ice but my cup is clearly full of ice. Can you give me another drink or refill this one?" OAM: "No sorry the amount of coffee is the same regardless of how much ice" Me: "That's impossible. The amount of coffee should vary depending on how much room is left in the cup after you put in the ice. So you would give a customer a drink that's not completely full?" OAM: "Ingredients are very expensive, condensed milk is very expensive" I give up and leave, not giving a single fuck about how expensive their ingredients are. When you sell an item and the customer makes a request, you either honor the request or say you can't so the customer can walk away. I wanted a large iced drink with only a little bit of ice, but instead I paid $4 for a cup of ice. If you're gonna be that cheap with the ingredients, raise your prices. But don't shaft your customers with bullshit excuses about how much ingredients cost because I don't give a shit. Fuck Lee's.

Very good spot for coffee and fresh baguettes. The lone was long but moved fast. pate at lee's is gross. Super skip! The hot coffee and cafe sua da were delish. Goi cuon made with bbq pork (char siu) was too weird for my blood. The banh bao was good but too much banh and not enough meat. I would pass pass pass on that. But overall good!

Great cheap breakfast option. Not a huge fan of sandwiches any other time of day but it sure is great to start off the day with a filling bahn mi for under $4! Service was fine, my sandwich skimpy but the bread was great and that's what they fill you up on anyways. Always take a baguette to go, can't beat the price!

Not much of a drive thru wait on a Friday! I ordered the avocado smoothie with boba. The smoothie was bomb, but the boba tasted like it wasn't sweetened at all, so that was kind of disappointing. Service was quick... Not so smiley though. Ehh. I think I'll get the smoothie without boba next time. And I'll probably bring cash so I won't be charged the $0.50 for using a card for a purchase under $5.00. (Even though my total was $4.95.)

I usually stop by here in the evenings after work. Always through the drive-thru. Never have I had a problem with the food, but man the Hispanic girl with the draw on eyebrows who is usually there at nights needs an attitude adjustment. Her customer service alone warrants 2 stars. She seems to hate her job. Tonight she was straight out telling her manager or whatever he was that she wasn't going to do what he was telling her to do. In front of the drive-thru window. Horrible customer service from her. She was so immersed in bitching and complaining to him that she totally messed up our order.

I bought a couple of ice coffees and all I got was ice and a couple of sips of coffee. I spent almost $10 dollars for horrible service I spoke to the cashier and instead of taking care of a customer he said i needed to talk to manager. Want coffee go to Mc Donalds or Star bucks instead.

  • Krystina V.

I absolutely love their iced coffee so I started asking for less ice because I wanted more coffee then I decided to get extra Greedy and ask for no ice and this is what I got. Literally a cup half-full -sucks!!! That's really how much coffee is inside that thing?? So sad

I went through the drive thru and is ordered a Mango Smoothie with Boba. When I received my order I tasted the smoothie and it was good but then when I tasted the boba it was straight out gross. It was very rubbery, unfavorable and very hard to chew. I walked and told the manager about the problem and all he said is the boba is brand new even though the container had March 27 on it. I went on April 2, I asked for my money back and he said no until my partner and I were furious and then he gave us our money back and started saying stuff about us as we were leaving. Point is don't go here at all.

I love this Lees, this is the only site ive seen in my area that has a drive thru! Perfect for when I need ice coffee cocaine in my life on the way to work Coworkers and I usually pick up stacks of sandwiches here... its dirt cheap. Cant complain

The sandwiches are amazing and love the fact that you can order Asian style sandwiches along with European sandwiches, as well. Great spot to stop for lunch.

Bread was long, but not enough meat inside. Think my friend said you can add more for a price. It was tasty though. Wait time was bout 10 mins and they were not busy.

Because there are so many vietnamese sandwiches offered in Santa Ana and where im from, i dont tend to order it. I only Get banh mi at a place by my house so when i go to lees is for their vietnamese coffee or panda waffles or the corn cakes with custard. Only Some Lees offer it so u have to do a little research. Usually the lees that have their own store front will. For those who do come here for the banh mi i will say they are pretty decent the only problem is that the bread can be hard and cut the roof of your mouth. But overall the meat and veggies are good. I prefer the bbq and combination.

    (3)
  • W C.

The place smelled yummy, filled with croissants fresh out of the oven. My mouth watered and I had to get a pastry, despite going there for vietnamese sandwiches. The baguettes were super fresh, however, there was not much meat and fixings in our sandwiches. We could barely taste the pickled veges. In fact, we brought our sandwiches home to add mayo to them! Major disappointment, but we would return for fresh bread or pastries, that's for sure.

This deli brings real value to your deli dollar. Sandwiches are delicious. Ordered the grilled pork, BBQ pork and chicken sand. Shared all of them and all had great flavor. Cilantro, jalapeño, carrots were on the sandwich with the meat. I can only say great things about the bread. And only good things about the sandwich shop.

We have been here before but decided to come today for a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich fix. Boy, this is the time to come. Everything is freshly made and fully stocked. We ordered two bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and pate chauds. Delicious! The bread was soft and the contents of the sandwich were warm and freshly made. The Pate Chaud's were flaky and quickly eaten. Best idea for breakfast this morning.

Not worth it. Need to find a new tea cafe. Can't fill up their large cup when ordering with less ice.

    (1)
  • Elissar K.

The sandwiches are quite good. The bread is nicely toasted and not too thick. Not a lot on the inside but I guess for the price, it's appropriate. Iced coffee was mostly ice and not as excusable. Literally filled to the top of the cup with ice. Two or three sips and it was done. It was so ridiculous that I had to say something and all I got was a dismissive "sorry, it's premeasured." Premeasured sip of coffee over a pound of frozen water? If a shot of coffee over a big cup of ice is what you're serving, it should be advertised as that. As good as the sandwiches are, bad service does always leave a bitter taste.

Boyfriend of Steph.S Yeah fuck you lees Ordered iced coffee with 'less ice " These greedy motherfuckers literally gave me ice in a cup with like 2 ounces of iced coffee . I would like to go back because the iced coffee is really good but if this happens again I will spit in the workers faces.

    - Locale Destination - It's on Harbor Blvd and Garden Grove Blvd in Garden Grove. It's in a shopping plaza. They have a decent size inside seating area. Outside seating area as well. They have an ATM machine inside. Their menu expanded - vermicelli, more

  • Delena T.

There have been three occasions when I came here before work and received the wrong sandwich.. Of course I couldn't turn back and return it because I had to head to work. Other than that I love their delimanjoos and sugarcane juice! I don't get there sandwiches anymore because of the mix ups before but the delimanjoos are usually on point.

  • Robert M.

Great price for a ban mi. I always get the BBQ pork with extra pâté'... Great taste but the bread does cut up the pallet some, unless it's a fresh baked baguette. Their iced coffee is extra strong and their spring rolls are okay.

  • Darlene V.

*sigh* yet again today, there was mayo in my sandwich after I asked for "no mayo, I'm allergic." It is now midnight, as my legs go numb while i'm on the shitter. My stomach turns and bubbles. I feel like throwing up but can't. I'm exhausted. Please let the pain end. I just can't understand why it's so hard not to put mayo on a sandwich. It wasn't until I took the first two bites that I realized my throat was feeling funny, I checked my sandwich and it looked as if they put mayo on and they were like "oh crap, customer asked for no mayo" and scraped it off... but that's just me going off assuming things... :/

    (1)
  • Anne M.

If you go through drive thru and want a vermicelli or rice plate, and you don't know what to select then go inside because there are no options through the drive thru. Only sandwich and drinks have options on the drive thru menu. That's the reason I gave it a 2 star. Quick bite but rather go inside a restaurant for Vietnamese food.

  • David A.

Warm fresh baguettes and crisp veggies had me craving these Vietnamese Sandwiches since 2011 when I first tasted them. Upon arriving in Orange County I told my family we needed to experience this amazing gastronomical delight. Smiling faces greeted us, and we're more than happy to accommodate our request of veggies on side of all 10 sandwiches. This place by far is an amazing must stop at when traveling through the OC!

Love it here. It's honesty the BEST Lee's Sandwich. The workers are so polite and patient even when the customers are straight asses. Please people, when it's lunch time and busy, exercise patience.

  • Richard H.

While the sandwich tasted great (combination sandwich), I'm slightly disappointed that it was smaller than other banh mi places, and even more disappointed that their WiFi does not work. The code that came with the receipt does NOT work. I asked and they said to use the telephone number, which does not work either.

    (2)
  • Jennifer C.

I"ve been to most of the Lee's in Orange County. This is probably my favorite because their service is always superb, it's always clean, and there's a Drive-Thru too! It always smells good, too. "But doesn't it smell like daikon and onions," you ask? Well...they've found a way to make their smell more appealing. THEY ARE ALWAYS MAKING COCONUT WAFFLES! Need I say more? Best sandwiches to get are the grilled chicken and the grilled or barbeque pork. YOU MUST TRY THEIR STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE WITH BOBA!!! You'll see what I mean when you try it! The price can't be beat, either. Their sandwiches are less than 3 bucks and they are big! 10 inches I believe? And lastly, their iced coffees are what make Lee's stand out above other sandwich places. Not only will you be extremely happy with the way it tastes, but you will be WIRED all day! This place is definitely a gem.

Service is great here and the best thing about this location is the drive thru. Vietnamese I've coffee large and sandwiches. I usually order the croissant sandwiches.

  • Daphne M.

I want to like this place as much as everyone else here on Yelp seems to. I really do. But my gut (er.. palate) tells me otherwise. Why? The taste of the sandwiches is decent, but I feel like there are much better places elsewhere. I had the #8 Shredded Pork sandwich in an attempt to be slightly adventurous compared to a classic American combination. I ended up with the spiciest sandwich on the planet. Please note, I am not a fan of spiciness and am pretty sensitive to it, so 4 bites in and I was dying. The pork was minimal, too. It was so unbearable that I went back up to order a Turkey and Swiss, which was quite good, albeit nothing special. What makes Lee's so great? Definitely the freshly baked baguettes, made every 30 minutes. They're warm and crispy as heck, definitely adding a nice crunch to your bite. The greens and veggies add a lovely aroma as well (in the case of my shredded pork sandwich). Second? Price! Ranging $2.85-$5ish, it's food on a budget. Though in the same respect, it makes me question the quality of the products used. The only reason I'd suggest Lee's is to check out the hype for yourself. And use free wifi, or the two available computers in the lobby.

My family is in love with this place of this place and buys their baguettes there every week. I ate their sandwiches a few times, and with those few times, I experienced headaches and later followed stomach aches. Probably I'm still not used to the meat... The baguettes are really hard (broke my braces bracket one time), and after a day it gets really chewy and hard to swallow. Three stars for the baguettes alone.

  • Heather B.

I'm a fan of the 24hr location on Brookhurst but I like this location because: a.) it's closest to my pad b.) they got a drive-thru : ) Of course #5 - Grilled Pork is my sandwich, but I just need to comment on their iced mocha coffee. Wow...yum!!! I had always been a little hesitant to try their coffee (I know, I'm a coffee snob), but I had heard from a fellow snob that it was really good and nice&strong. So I tried it yesterday and I'm a fan! It's no Kean coffee, but it's tasty, strong, Vietnamese coffee and it's good and under $3! I will definitely be getting that again!

  • Scott A.

3.5 stars for taste + .5 stars for value = 4.0 stars - .5 for the stomachache I got afterwards = 3.5 stars. I'm always a bit skeptical going to Vietnamese restaurants because of the cleanliness factor, but I wanted to be open minded and try this place. The grilled pork sandwich was good and for $2.45 I can see why people flock to this place. Most people I noticed just bought baugettes for $1. The BBQ Pork and combo sandwich didn't taste that great and I wouldn't recommend you try those. Would I go back to this place? Probably, but I'd make sure I was near a bathroom afterwards.

I just want to give this Lee's a nice review after an awesome experience last week. I've been frequenting Lee's for many years at several of their locations (please come to LA already!), but this was the first time coming to this one. Normally, you expect a 5-10 minute wait when you come here because they make your sandwich from scratch, eg. put the baguette through the buzzsaw, slice your meat (heh-heh yeah, I said meat), etc. Here's where the drive-thru changes the whole equation. Having a drive-thru at Lee's is a Godsend. I wish they had one at all of them. I placed my order, pulled up to the window, paid, and set the car into park because I figured I'd be waiting a while. Lo and behold, my order of 4 sammiches, an order of egg rolls and and order of hot wings were ready in less than 5 minutes. Un-freakin-believable! On top of it all, the service was friendly and not rushed, as in not cutting me off until I was done ordering. Well done! Definitely will be hitting up this Lee's the next time I'm on the way home to LA from OC, for sheer convenience.

I tried out bahn mi for the first time at Lee's and it was delicious :) For $2.50 I got a 10 inch chicken sandwich on french bread. The sandwich had vegetables and jalapeños which gave it a nice kick. I went through the drive through and I didn't know that you had to spend $5 for credit card transactions, but the girl at the window was nice enough to let me slide.

This is the only Lee's location that I've been to that has a drive thru. The sandwiches are inexpensive and their service is quick. I was literally at the drive thru for only 2-3 minutes. Highly recommend coming here if you wanna grab something fast to eat or even sneak it in to Disneyland which I seen some folks do.

    (4)
  • Dawn M.

Tried once & that is all the $$'s Lee's Sandwiches will get from me. Required to pay too much for the crap they serve you. The employees are rude & I would not recommend this place to anyone. I do not know how they stay in business.

    (1)
  • Giancarlo F.

You can't go wrong with a ban mi that cost 2 dollars 50 cents

  • Vy S.

When Lee's Sandwiches permeated the Vietnamese sandwich market several years ago, I had mixed feelings about their product - I wasn't impressed by their sandwiches in comparison to other 'banh mi' places, and their coffee had that hint of hazelnut that didn't sit well with me. It took me two years of living elsewhere for me to learn to appreciate it. As much as I love places like "Banh Mi Che Cali" or even "Gala Bakery" for their Vietnamese french bread sandwiches, this particular location has renewed my faith in the Lee's Sandwiches chain. Touting a drive-thru, free wi-fi internet and a breakfast menu (that is virtually nonexistent at the Brookhurst/Westminster store), you get all the perks of a Vietnamese sandwich shop without being shoved out of the way by patrons who have only known a life of "first come, first serve" and will yell your ear off to get what they want ordered, and fast. Their Vietnamese iced coffee (ca phe sua da, $2.20) isn't the best, but it's satisfying on a hot day, aside from the heaping amount of crushed ice they put in it. I got the ham, egg and cheese croissant sandwich from their breakfast menu, and the bf got the french bread bacon, egg and cheese and they were both hot and toasty when we got them from the drive-thru window. The regular sandwiches are worth a try as well, but remember that Vietnamese sandwiches are all about crusty French bread so it may be on the dry side. Prices, ambiance and overall "new brand" of Vietnamese service are what made me reconsider Lee's. Stars: 3.5 - not quite a four but still much better than A-OK.

  • Naomi K.

Talk about commercial. Quick place to stop in at get a quick bit to eat. Several selections of Vietnamese sandwiches, milk teas, smoothies, and baked goods. Its like an Asian McDonald's but better. It's hard to resist the waffle cookies when everything smells so good coming out of the oven. I wish they had the sesame balls with red bean inside. Too bad we didn't have these chains in North Carolina.

  • Cindy C.

I had not been to this place in a while. I went back this week, I love their #12, it's their vegetarian sandwich. The ingredients are always fresh and the bread is freshly baked there. I just love getting a nice warm sandwhich with the crunchy cilantro and jalapenos inside! Their spring rolls are tasty as well. There are lots of options here.

How can you not like a super yummy, super cheap sandwich? Drive through! What more is there to say!

  • Jen G.

We have Lee's Sandwiches in the SF area and I thought they couldn't get any better. I was wrong. These are the same awesome sandwiches- but with a drive-thru! I'm so stoked about it that I'm typing while I chew. This is truly a red-letter date. Big red letters. Big red letters that are lit up and spell "LEE'S SANDWICHES". And green neon letters that say "DRIVE THRU". Oh and #6 is #1! Just don't order it like that or you might confuse the nice person who takes your order ;)

pretty much everything on the menu is under $5, how did we manage to spend close to $30 !?! 2 sandwiches, 2 baguettes, deli manjoos, 2 pork buns, coconut waffle, egg rolls, a soda and blended coffee, maybe thats how. It was all delicous though. Definitely my new Disneyland stop

    (5)
  • Jon N.

I frequent this location a lot because it's close to where I live. I love their fresh baguettes for only $1, but be aware they have no shelf life!! They go stale overnight if left out and it's just not the same if you put it in a plastic bag. I also love their sandwiches which range from $2.45 - $2.95. I typically get their special combination but I'm slowly trying to order everything on their menu. Their egg rolls are pretty decent too, nicely sized to for you to finish in 2 bites. You get 5 of them for $2.50. I personally think the signature iced coffee at this location is TOO sweet, they need to go easy on the condensed milk. I've tried it twice to make sure it wasn't a fluke but at other locations the iced coffee isn't as sweet as this location.

I came here around 3 in the morning. I wanted sandwhices because I love them. My only drawback from buying this late was the place only accepted cash. It was fine that I had enough. I wouldn't have known what to do if I didnt have enough. I ate them the next day and they were as good as new. I wanted to get more. I can't enough of these for some reason. They are cheap and fill you up. I prefer them over fast food places.

I LOVE Lee's Sandwiches. My favorite is the grilled pork. If I am extra hungry I have them add extra meat and now you are talking :-) Not a big fan of there boba, but the sandwiches freshly baked baguettes are what I would recommend. I get them as often as I can.

I have been to many Lee's Sandwiches. And this by far is my favorite location. 1) it's has a drive thru 2) their bread is WAY better then the other locations 3) it's on the way to Disneyland. Love, love, love their BBQ pork sandwich!

    (5)
  • Whitney S.

This place has delicious sandwiches for an AMAZING price! It's close to Disneyland, so it has become our stop on the way to the park for lunch. The bread is delicious and you can get TWO 10 inch sandwiches for $5. My personal favorite is the grilled pork. If you want to use a credit card, your order must be over $5.

    (5)
  • Tori M.

I love these sandwiches! I tried duplicating their sandwiches at home but nothing can compare to their amazing bread...it makes all the difference. Honestly with their prices being to affordable I don't know why I even went thru all the trouble at home. The meats are pretty well seasoned but the radish & carrots are so refreshing & crunchy. A sandwich along with their Vietnamese ice coffee is enough to make my day.

  • Cory J.

This place is very clean and sanitary, but I prefer Bánh Mì Chè Cali. The prices are not bad, but the bread is so-so and the pickled vegetables are in largish chunks; I prefer a finer shred in my Banh Mi. It has free WiFi.

Was off to try Garden Grove's " best pizza" when I became leery when I saw no one there and it was dinner time. On my way out I notice a long line at this place across the street. It's Lee's. I love sandwiches! Little did I know it was Vietnamese sandwiches- but what a pleasant surprise after I ate. At $2.49 per sandwich it can't be beat. I had the BBQ pork and it was very delicious. The right amount of pickled radish and other vegetables and a nice fresh baguette. Will make a stop again when I can find another Lee's since I live in San Diego area.

  • Annie K.

For some reason I remember Lee's Sandwiches being better than what I had this past time. Growing up in OC I remembered the sandwiches being fresh (still is) cheap (yep) & good (meh). Maybe it's my tastebuds growing up, but I got a chix sandwhich here & to my horror they had PINK SLIMY CHICKEN! augh! If I pretended the pink chicken wasn't mashed in with gristle & slimy white stuff maybe I could enjoy it...but nope, there it was staring at me with every bite. My little bro had the pork, which he said was good, but the kid can pretty much eat anything. I think I'll stick to subway next time I want a cheap fresh sandwhich.

A decade ago an exec from a fast food company stumbled into Lee's and thought I could make an american verison of this... This is the orginal OG subway sandwich, and it rocks!

My hubby brought home a couple sandwiches from this joint this evening. One was the bbq pork, the baguette was so fresh & the pork was delish. The sandwich filling was really great stuff, I like the pickled veggies & jalapenos. The other sandwich was combination, pretty bland in my opinion. Prices were very reasonable, the bbq pork was $2.50 & the combination $2.99, this I can afford

  • Donny E.

One of the best Lee's sandwiches I have been too! Bahn Mi should be a staple in any diet, its portable, & you can take it anywhere you want. If you're getting mugged you can use the Bahn Mi as a weapon too. No, on second thought dont use it as a weapon, instead enjoy the tasteful ride into crunchy/soft/chewy baguette with any of the options available from pork, veggie, chicken, roast beef, & others. The ban bao is good & the coffee....eeehhhhh its good but not much of a coffee drinker but the iced teas are lightly sweetened and a good refresher on a hot day.

If you want something refreshing and different then try Lees. Always fresh and so many choices. More than just sandwiches. Chicken wings are to die for. Prices are so reasonable and so filling. Always a wonderful experience....

the drive thru makes it worth coming to this one. Love the pate chaud (pork) and their sandwiches. My favorite is the #35 (roast beef on a croissant.) Cheap, I'd rather spend $5 here than on a popular $5 foot long sandwich. Get the coffee! It'll keep you running for days!

  • Mayumi H.

FRESH BAKED BAGUETTE EVERY 30 MINUTES!! FOR ONE DOLLA!! Seriously, they have the best baguettes EVER. Especially when they are fresh out of the oven. I've had Lee's Sandwiches plenty of times and they always tear up my mouth since the bread gets super rock hard, but when they are fresh..OMG so heavenly soft and warm!! I have yet to try their infamous cracked out iced coffee. I hear if you drink it, you'd stay up 2 days straight. I've had their boba and it's pretty tasty. Absolutely LOOOVE Lee's Sandwiches. Thanks for the cheap food! (eventho they used to be cheaperrrrr!!)

  • Jimmy N.

love it for the sole fact that there is a drive through here. the automated speech the "robot" gives you at the beginning is weird though.. lol. everything else is just like any other lee's sandwich.. except.. less um.. ghetto viet people (you know, the kind of new-to-america-vietnamese that can't say anything else except "du ma" and "ay may" when speaking).. this one is more universally friendly.. the customers typically include white, mexican, etc etc.. good mix of business professionals and regular working class too.

I haven't had Lee's in awhile but we decided on sandwiches from Lee's to munch on while at Disneyland to save ourselves money. Service was friendly and the major plus? THE DRIVE THRU! :)

    (3)
  • Mary F.

The best sandwich place ever! Especially because the sandwiches come in croissants that are so buttery and fresh. Their bobas are good too, I've tried almost all of them. They don't skimp on the cheese or avocado either. I come here about once a week, and they are always nice and quick.

    (5)
  • Andrew B.

This is an interesting place. Never been to such an established deli serving both Vietnamese and American style sandwiches. I went with the Vietnamese since it was more than $2 less. Not bad for a $2.45 10" baguette. Lot's of choices here. I'll go again..

    (3)
  • Bree H.

Every time I go here, no matter what meat I choose for the sandwich, I always get the runs and something tastes funny. This tells me they are probably not clean and also do not take care of their meat.

  • Jeff L.

How awesome is this place? For those of you have been to Lee's and possess a mind open enough to expand into this cross-cultural endeavor, can certainly understand what I'm talking about. They are certainly Bringing Banh Mi to the Masses and that is exactly the kind of sandwich shop we need in this area. Banh mis is slowly on a mission, a mission to conquer and invade taste buds everywhere. One thing that truly stood out is of course, their great baguettes. They are baked fresh every 30 minutes and you can buy them for a buck. This sure beats 1.99 at the super market for stale baguettes. You get a healthier meal that packs flavor and will leave you feeling good about what you're about to digest. This is winning combo that should not be missed.
